Bury Old Habits!

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act, but a habit.”

~Aristotle

Admit it. You have bad habits, I do as well. My three worst ones are procrastination, not keeping promises that I make to myself, and being unorganized. So, let’s bury one bad habit at a time!

I am going to choose not exercising on a consistent basis as my first one. Every day I tell myself that I am going to work out in the gym or go for a walk……. I keep putting it off until it is just too late in the day or I am too tired to go. These excuses are reflections of the three bad habits that I listed above.  Instead, I am going to try something new!

  1. I am going to commit to working out for 60 minutes a day for the next 30 days. This promise is for me and is important because I am important.
  2. I am going to write down my schedule and time block for the 60 minutes. It may have to be broken up in increments and include mini sessions, but I must exercise EVERY DAY!
  3. I am going to set mini goals along the way so that I can track my progress such as increasing weights or shortening run times.

Start with one bad habit. Change it into something positive. Focus on it and give yourself a realistic expectation. Let’s both start today! First steps are the hardest….
